Hammock Island Loft apartment, situated on the award-winning, blue flag Thesen Islands marina, with controlled access is totally secure and conveniently close to town, within walking distance of local restaurants.

The fully self-contained apartment is on the first floor with a west facing balcony overlooking the water, cool in the mornings for breakfast outdoors with magical sunset views in the evenings. Completely private and luxuriously appointed, the spacious loft sleeps two comfortably with en-suite his and her bathroom and shower.

The rooms are decorated in a subtle nautical theme with all the appliances required to make your stay as comfortable as possible, including microwave-grill-oven combo, twin plate hot plate, fridge,/freezer, french press, filter coffee machine, juicer, blender and flat screen, high definition TV with the full DSTV bouquet at your control and 55 DVD titles from which to choose. Free wifi is included as well. Parking is off-road.

The island has a wild bird sanctuary with viewing hide and an 18 hole putting course, as well as tennis and squash facilities. A putter/golfballs and racquets are available to borrow. There is also a painter's easel in the apartment and a telescope for star gazing. The main beach/swimming area in the marina has a public braai you may use with toilet facilities and wifi. Laundry can be arranged in town.

"The views were magic and the apartment very central to everything. Big disappointment, hot water only available at 5.00-7.00 evenings and mornings, Cameron explained this to me on enquiring. Thanks to everyone.<br/><br/>Establishments response:<br/><br/>It's not correct that 'hot water is only available between 7-9 mornings and evenings'. I explained that the geyser is on a timer and heats the water for four hours between these times. This is an environmentally sound practice and saves wasted electricity by stopping the geyser switching on and off whenever a hot tap is used.<br/>Therefore you can shower any time of the day or night as the geyser retains this heat with ease. You just have only two opportunities to drain a hundred and fifty litre geyser of hot water a day. If this wasn't enough for two people you might reconsider the length of your showers given the on and off water shortages in most of the country.<br/>I've not had any adverse comments on the timer arrangement until yours. I glad you enjoy your stay otherwise.<br/>Regards,"

"Cameron was a fantastic host from the time we arrived until we left. He was very welcoming and hospitable, our apartment was beautiful and the views across the lagoon was beautiful to wake up to and watch the sun rise and set each day. The apartment is beautifully decorated, Cameron's attention to detail and the little touches like shampoo, soap etc in the bathroom drawer was welcome as one always forgets something at home like I do!This was our first time staying there and we will definitely be back. The apartment has everything you need for self catering if you don't want to go out for dinner. He also recommended some amazing restaurants and we had a great time dining at Freshline Fisheries/Rib and Rump.Knysna was ravaged by wild fires on the 7th June 2017, the devastation that this beautiful town suffered was heart breaking to see. The town will rise up from the ashes like a Phoenix and become beautiful again with the forests and plantations. Staying there during this time was both happy and sad for us. Thank you Cameron for a wonderful stay, you have a beautiful home, we loved our weekend there and were sad when we had to leave to go back home.I highly recommend booking your next stay with Hammock Island Loft Apartment :) RegardsJanet & Kevin"

"We loved the place! Thesens Island is a piece of paradise. We had one request though.....a bit of coffee for the morning would have been great! We got in too late to find a store that was open and could sell us a bit of ground coffee for the plunger. I managed to "bribe" a restaurant manager to sell me a bit but it would all have been perfect, had there been a bit of coffee and milk."

"We came down for the oyster festival half-marathon and had good intentions to do much more than run. However, due to the relaxing and pleasant vibe at the apartment we did virtually nothing. The dvd's were very welcome and we took full advantage of it. Oysters, champagne, breakfast, snacks, reading, just chilling and chatting on the deck at sunset was very soothing on the mind and body. Will definitely consider going back again."
