Self-catering luxury villa in Knysna, Garden Route Western Cape, South Africa. This superb holiday home on Thesen Islands is designed for relaxed, easy indoor/outdoor living with large verandah with uninterrupted view of Knysna lagoon and wetlands.
The ground floors has high ceilings, an open plan lounge, dining room, kitchen, which leads onto a verandah, and a deck with a crystal clear pool, and a superb gas braai. A staircase off the deck will lead you to our private floating jetty, where you could tie your own boat or do some fishing. Our large verandah deck is ideal for those that wish to sunbathe in privacy and lie next to the pool.
Thesen Islands offers a lot to the visitors, both young and old. There is walking, cycling, and swimming at the beaches. There are also two tennis courts, a squash court, a children's playground and a small grassed 18 hole golf putting course, all these facilities can be used by our guests.
Thesen Islands is a private estate with a gated entrance and is surrounded by the waters of the Knysna Lagoon, offering a relaxed and naturally safe lifestyle, among glorious surroundings. Guests use an electronic disk for entering and exiting. Downstairs: one bedroom with king size bed , bathroom en-suite bath and shower. One bedroom with self-catering facilities, queen bed, bathroom en-suite and shower.
This villa has a private jetty (maximum boat size: 5.5m by 2.3m), a chharcoal or wood Weber braai, a one-car garage as well as a laundry room with a washer and dryer.

"Location and view"
30 December 2022"The location is great! Maintenance checks are needed before renting out a property. We spent most of our time there communicating and assisting to fix problems of the house. The owner did not buy water for the house. The municipality had to come out to load pre-paid water and provide the new system to buy water. The geyser for the flatlet did not have warm water. Plumbers had to come out. The gas braai's gas was empty. A glass cupboard door fell on my elderly mom as the glass was not properly secured. My sister's daughter got stuck in the bathroom. When opening up the oven door the food falls out as the oven was not properly secured. We had to catch baking trays otherwise it would fall on the floor. A maintenance man had to come out to fix these problems. The house cannot lock. The door is broken. We struggled and eventually got the TV to work. There were no instructions left behind. Our biometrics was not loaded to access the estate even though all the documentation was sent beforehand. There is an inverter and 1 battery on the property. This helped to provide light when there was loadshedding."

"Peaceful and tranquil"
17 July 2022"The home is large and comfortable to easily accommodate large families although we were only 4 people.The views from the patio are peaceful and beautiful. The winter mornings and evenings in Knysna can be bitterly cold and the underfloor heating does not work. However, after a few calls, we were able to get someone over to fix the gas fireplace so that we could have some warmth in the evenings as the home is large and can feel quite cold in the winter. The house administrator was kind enough to find us extra blankets and help us with a heater. I am sure it is much warmer in the summer time.It would also be great if there were a few extras offered to guests during check-in like small guest soap bars, etc. in the bathrooms or next to wash basins. The home decor is a bit dated but still offers a very comfortable stay and the island itself is also beautiful. With a few additional extra touches to welcome guests, this home has the potential to offer a wonderful family holiday."

"Best Knysna holiday ever"
30 December 2015"Really enjoyed the house - spacious and well kitted out. We had our own powerboat and it was a treat to moor it at the house's private jetty - made getting to and from the lagoon for skiing so much easier. My only suggestion for the house would be a Nespresso coffee machine :)<div><br /></div><div>Also enjoyed Thesen Island very much - beautiful secure environment. Was great for my small kids who spent much of their holiday cycling around on the island and playing soccer at the clubhouse lawn.</div>"
