Rob's Place

Robs place is a self-catering accommodation venue in Potchefstroom with a relaxed, warm, country atmosphere. At this spacious and relaxed venue, you are encouraged to make yourself at home where all facilities are there for your use.

Our 14 double-bedrooms cater for up to 37 people and are serviced daily. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom. Some of our rooms have fully furnished kitchen with a 2 plate stove, fridge, coffee station and cutlery. Other rooms only have a fridge, microwave, coffee station and cutlery.

Most of our rooms have air-conditioning, which is available at an extra cost per day. Remotes can be collected from our office. Access to Wi-Fi is through Safricom- Internet, coupons are available from the office at an extra cost per coupon. Laundry can be done on arrangement at an extra cost.

Small basic breakfast is included in the price. It consists of coffee, rusks, cereal, fruits and yogurt, just to start your day off with. We do not cater for lunch or dinner, however we are closely situated to a variety of restaurants.

Youll be approximately 4.1 km from the largest mall in Potchefstroom, where you will find all major shops, several restaurants and the cinema. The North West University approximately 6.1 km and all major high schools are within about 10 minute drive, as are the major cricket, hockey and rugby venues.

    "The accommodation was fine for an overnight stay - enough space and it was nice to have your own bathroom. Just very minor suggestions: soap and a glass at the basin would be good, and the light and noise from people outside the window were a bit disturbing, but I don't know whether anything could be done about this. Thanks very much - it was good value for money and suited our purposes well."

    "Although my stay at Rob's Place was satisfactory and I did get what I paid for, there were a few occurrences that decreased the guesthouse's professionalism. I was not received in a hospitable way - I did not feel welcome at the guesthouse, and I had to leave as soon as I arrived, because the were busy cleaning the room. The owner did not go to the trouble of finding out what time I would arrive to make sure the room would be ready on time. The second, and most important reason why I would not recommend this guesthouse to anyone, is the fact that the wifi feature on the website is misleading. The guesthouse does NOT have wifi, although they say they do on their website. The wifi on the premises is provided through a 3rd party provider (safricom), that requires registration and payment by means of a lenthly and complicated process. Even after you register, the reception is close to nothing. This was a huge problem for me, as this was one of the reasons I chose this specific guesthouse. I needed wifi desperately for my work. On the positive side, I did enjoy having my own kitchen, and it was nice and quiet in the evenings."

    "Rob's Place was een van die lekkerste oornagplekke waar ek nog geslaap het. Alles is skoon en netjies, hul respekteer mens se privaatheid en die stort is heerlik. Die skottel is gestel dat 'n mens rustig kan TV kyk sonder 'n vloekery en laster. Ek het 'n paar goed vir die cleaning lady gelos, en het skaars uitgery toe die opsigter my bel en my inlig dat ek goed vergeet het! Sulke eerlikheid is skaars. Baie dankie, dit was 'n heerlike verblyf.<br><br><i>Rob's Place was one of the nicest overnight stops I have ever been to. Everything is clean and tidy, they respect their guests privacy and the shower is great. I forgot a few thing and the caretaker called me and let me know! Such honesty is rare. Thank you, it was a wonderful stay.</i>"
