  "Snuggled in the feet of the Maskam Mountain and the Gifberg (Poison Mountain - so named because the Bushmen used the berries of these mountains to poison their arrows) this delightful venue had everything we needed. Spacious shower, well organised kitchen, comfortable warm bed. We had a glorious rest in the expansive peace of the North West Province. Hostess Ancarene is most gracious, and cares for all your needs. She will also make meals if you give her 24 hours notice. We bought packs of the organic rooibos they grow on the farm, plus there is marmalade and grape jam also for sale - all grown on the farm. Highly recommended!"

We didn't do any activities on the farm but simply sitting on the stoep, braaing and looking at the Maskam mountains was amazing. Beautiful starry skies at night.The Cottage contained everything we needed and the beds are very comfy."

Als is daar wat jy nodig het tot drie sakke houten bo alles koue water en drie ysbakkies vol ys; iets wat ons nie by diegrandste plekke waar ons die afgelope 11 nagte geslaap het gekry het nie.Dit was wondelik om die son te sien sak en hoe die Maskam en Gigberge van blouna oranje verkleur. Eienaars is wonderlike twee mense wat lekker kangesels.   "Simply a wonderful place! The setting near Gifberg and Maskam mountains is very scenic. The chalet is very well kept and the veranda offers wonderful views. We haven't seen the farm during flower season, but even in summer it is really worth the trip. Thanks to Ancarene, the lovely host, who made us feel very welcome. We also enjoyed the food."

  "We stayed for one night on our way back from Namibia to Cape Town. Maskam Guest farm is a beautiful farm which must be incredible in flower season. Ancarene makes great farm food which is amazing value for money. The cottage we stayed in had all amenities and was just perfect for us. I liked the personal touch of supplying flower guide books in the cottage. I wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Ancarene for a lovely stay."

We enjoyed the hospitality of Ancarene and the traditional South African dinner that was delivered to our cottage. Very reasonable price for the quality of the accommodation.   "We enjoyed our stay at Maskam, mostly because of the warm, caring hospitality of Ancarene, and her dinners were super!Lovely view of the Maskam and Gifberg Mountain, comfortable accommodation although only gas and solar energy used and very central to the major flower regions. Beautiful flowers on the farm and felt like heaven to walk between the flowers and enjoy the sun and the peaceful quietness. Will be back!"

  "It was a great experience at the farm. Totally remote from the busy city/town environment. The lady who operates the farm houses and her husband are extremly frindly and accomodative. They have got a good idea of its sorrounding area. Only negative is the congrested inner layout of the eco guest house. Also GPS cordinates provided in the web page do not guide correctly from N7 nor town."

  "The friendly reception is worth five stars! I imagine that it must be quite difficult to establish a guest farm in such a remote place. Amazingly, one does not lack anything. We were especially happy about the recommended places to visit, as they proved to be a paradise for botanists. At a certain time the farm is studded with the most interesting flowers."

  "They had problems with the green energy and the tiolet but apart from that we had a lovely overnight stay and fire in the fire place. I like the idea of going green. The TV was not installed yet but that is no problem as I think you do not need a TV going to the Mskam/Gifberg mountains. Everything was need and very clean."

The friendly reception by Whisky, the Sheepdog, the neat and well-kept Berggans cottage, and your recommendations of activities to do and places to visit was highly appreciated. Highlights during our stay include the beautiful mountain views, the starry night sky, and the absolute silence, driving the Gifberg pass, and exploring the Maskam 4X4 route on foot. Our self catering cottage was well equipped and meals and braaiwood could be arranged if required. Your effort in establishing the Maskam cottages and your passion for creating such a nice oasis in this region is truly appreciated. It is the perfect staging point for exploring this beautiful area even outside of the flower season. We will definitely recommend Maskam Guest Farm to our friends."
