Vanrhynsdorp Oasis

Vanrhynsdorp Oasis is two kilometers outside of Vanrhynsdorp, on a smallholding at the foot of the Gifberg Mountains with views of the Maskam Mountains. Guests can drive up the mountain to go see the cape fynbos and Gifberg's rock art. There are also many walking trails alongside streams. If you are adventurous, there is rock climbing and plenty of caves to explore. There are also the most beautiful waterfalls in the rainy season and if you are an avid birdwatcher you can spot the black eagle.

During July, August and September Namaqualand changes into a haven of colour and you can gaze upon the most beautiful flowers as far as the eye can see. Nowhere else in the world can you find this natural flower festival. The surrounding area is renowned for its vineyards and Vredendal has a large wine cellar. From there it is just a short drive to Strandfontein which is a beautiful coastal town visited by holidaymakers every year.

Drive over the gorgeous Vanrhyns Pass to Nieuwoudtville where you can see a quiver tree forest. In Vanrhynsdorp itself there is an old radio museum, and a succulent nursery, including a hiking trail. Vanrhynsdorp offers old-fashioned hospitality and the residents are very friendly, so if you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the city, this is the ideal place to relax and soak in the silence.

Vanrhynsdorp Oasis accommodation consists of a spacious self-catering with enough space to accommodate four guests and another double room containing a double bed. Each room contains an en-suite with a shower, sink and toilet. Vanrhynsdorp Oasis is well equipped for self-catering with a stove, fridge and an indoor grill. There is a large dining table and a comfortable couch on which to watch TV and relax. Bedding is provided. If you do not feel like cooking; meals can be provided at a reasonable price.

"We decided early in the morning to go for a trip to Namakwaland. They responded immediately and when we arrived late , we are already expected by a Lady and her very nice obviously old dogs. The room that was waiting for us was very nice, a bathroom en suite also perfect for us, everything very clean and after a very warm welcome we had a nice time watching rugby with a Lady and her son, also staying there and having a nice conversation in the kitchen. We can recomment this accommodation. It's worth the money ,friendly people, relaxing athmosphere and hope the two nice dogs are getting very old. Thank you we will appriciate to come back. "Riverside Palms se gashere moet 5 sterre kry vir vriendelikheid - ons moes ver ry en het baie laat daar aangekom, maar daar was nie 'n sweempie kilte met ons aankoms nie.Die akkommodasie self is skoon en bevat als wat jy vir 'n pitstop nodig het.(Dit was bietjie moeilik om te vind m.b.v. internet aanwysings, so 'n bord by die afdraai kan 'n verdwaalde dalk help.)Kan di plek egter aanbeveel vir diegene wat op die langpad vir 'n nag moet o rus.<br><br><br><i>Riverside Palms hosts should get 5 stars for friendliness - we had to travel far and very late arriving, but there was not a slightest hint of coldness on our arrival.The accommodation itself is clean and contains everything you for a pit stop. It was a little difficult to the internet instructions and a sign at the turnoff might help.Can recommended this place for those on the road for a night to rest the eyes."
