Melkboomsdrift Guest House & Conference Centre
Melkboomsdrift Lodge is situated in the heart of the Olifants River Valley, between Vredendal and Lutzville. This working wine farm, with a restored farmhouse circa 1820, is an ideal stopover between Cape Town and Namibia on the N7, with the West Coast just 20 minutes away for whale-spotting.
The quaint rooms feature private entrances and bar fridges, and delicious farm breakfasts are served, with dinner and picnic baskets available on request. Self-catering options are also available. Guests can relax at the pool side, overlooking the river or vineyards or cruise up-river for birding or the seasonal wild flowers.
The guest house is located on the fertile banks of the Olifants River, on the famous South African West Coast. This gem of South Africa's West Coast, has everything and more to offer the battle-weary businessman or adventurous tourist.

19 October 2015"We enjoyed our stay at the lodge, it was located in a lovely setting and the rooms were tastefully decorated with very good comfortable beds. Had we had more time we would have made this our home base for exploring this region as it is located centrally between Lutzville and Vredendal. Breakfast was freshly prepared and suitable for young and old, given we were travelling with kids."

27 August 2015"we enjoyed our one night stay but it was marred by the overpriced dinner that was late due to kitchen glitch and not of a standard that the 4 star rating promised. Breakfast was also a haphazard affair with dishes such as the bacon running out. The young staff where eager to please but lacked direction.<div>The Kooistal room wash basin tap is loose and about to give trouble or fall off.</div><div>The setting was a beautiful relaxing and interesting.</div>"
