  "Lodge should maintain all cabins properly taps were all wrong way round, staff were not very accommodating when asked questions, braai places should be more built up so as to not cause a forest fire and fireplaces should be maintained as it seems as tho it was falling apart, mattresses should be cleaned properly as the main highlight of my stay specifically was the fact that u got eaten by bedbugs"

  "The most guest unfriendly establishment in South Africa. Rule book of many pages with threats for non-compliance. Bathroom is a disaster and kitchen is useless. Should be closed down."

  "Marie was a stunning host. She was very friendly and helpful, not like the reviews stated. The Lodge has policies to abide by, but not difficult at all. Very peaceful area - picturesque in the mountains, and easy to find with the clear directions provided. We loved it, and couldn't ask for a better host than Marie!"

  "Our stay at Highlands Lodge was very peacefull. It was nice and quite, the grounds were neat and the wooden houses were nice too, however maintanance was/is poor. ceiling fans dont work, bulbs in side table lamps fuzed, carpets very dirty, bedding very poor, pliows full of mildew. we stayed in unit 1 and 5. unit 1 septic tank? was not in a good state and overflowing so the smell of sewage was bad and and in your face all 9 days we were there. We did complain and a repair was attempted but not successful. Even though the camp was not full my family was not moved to another house."

  "Not what we expected. Our unit had no braai facilities, no fireplace, cups were chipped, there weren't enough cutlery (For a 7 bed bungalow, there were only 2 tablespoons.) pots and pans were in a horrific state (Pot could not retain water). The bungalow floor was extremely dirty upon arrival, we had to ask the cleaners to mop it. Pictures are misleading as high voltage power lines runs parallel to the lodge with a loud humming sound."

  "We arrived Monday 6/7/2009 and had a heartily warm reception. The surroundings were very beautiful and tranquil between the Pine trees. The chalet was in excellent nic and we enjoyed the walks in the mountains. A definite yes for anybody seeking peace and rest close to nature. Your tarriffs are excellent value for money."
